My CaReLeSs WhIsPeR-Think UNIT TRUST, Think Agnes

The week before CNY was so cool where I got plenty of shocking stares and compliments of my new look at my workplace. My manager has got the biggest reaction of all and she couldn’t stop complimenting my new hairstyle and my so called makeover coz fyi, I dun use to wear makeup to work.

Her: ehhh..agnes..HAHAHA..new hairstyle, new makeover man..ehh very nice laa, very pretty, you look so different…HAHAHA..(btw she HAHA damn loud sial) have you showed K your new look?
Me: Huh..why must show him?? (oops I terlepas cakap abit)
Her: No, I mean has he seen you? See he can recognize you or not..i think he sure kenot…hahaha..

Had to attend a briefing by my COO that day itself. He saw me from afar.

Him: Dyed hair…one I kenot recognize from the back (he was referring to my competitor) now another one I kenot recognize even from the front (which is me)..these gals ar…next time want to dye hair, must get my approval first..haha..

Back to my manager, prior to the briefing, out at the reception area, she started to puji puji again...paiseh man, later that day, she even ‘promoted’ my new hairstyle to someone from another business division and that someone called my ex-supervisor, Eva to ask about my new hair. What the heck? Call me la, why must call my colleague to ask? Damn weird man this place. Dun you think so?

Anyway, I’m now known in the company..the Korean expatriate (given by my manager and my competitor), artis korea, penyanyi korea, guess wat I call myself? The Korean Chick hahahahalol ;p Oh btw, 2 person actually said the same thing, they said I look like...Amber Chia! I guess it was coz of the blonde highlight strands. Other than that, nothing else can make me look like AMBER CHIA. Hahaha..

My ex-manager told me I look very different when I went into her room one day. You know if I am still reporting under her, I would be very worried to have these hair color man, serious. Coz I dun think she is open about it. My guess anyway, not sure. But if I’m right, it’ll be all about the need of an HR personnel to portray ‘good and proper’ example to all staff. But as long as my new manager is ok with it, then it shouldn’t be a problem :)

You know..when you do something new to your hair or whatever, there will alwiz be good and bad comments? Welcome to the real world. Two colleagues (the younger ones) told me I’d look much better without the blonde strands as they make me look like ‘ah lian’ (not so proper kind of gals). I replied them “Thanks for your advise. But I memang wanted those highlights for the curls to be more obvious, well, for a change” Another colleague who heard it said to me “Aiya, that fella memang the kolot kind one ma” Frankly speaking, I dun give a damn nor feel bad about it. I mean why should I? As long as I dun cross the limit, then it’s fine enough. After all..say 9 compliments to offset 1 criticism, if you were to be me, would you still care? Hmm…I dun think you would too.

Another interesting to share. I realize that when you groom yourself, ppl would start to treat you differently, sometimes like never before. How different, you go figure ;p
